Principal Accountabilities Include:
- Facilitate the flow of clinical information for the transfer/admission of patients from clinics, hospitals, emergency departments and other locations external to Virginia Mason. Ensure ongoing monitoring of the flow of the patient until the patient is admitted. Upon admission, ensure complete communication between external and internal providers to support a safe handoff of clinical care for the patient.

- Train, mentor, initiate discipline, and provide direction to staff as assigned. Provide input to performance evaluations and competency assessments for staff. Maintain and update staff procedures, staff training programs and quality assurance programs.

- Represent the hospital as a key leader during off hours and coordinates issues to appropriate level for problem solving.

- Participate in improvement projects focused on achievement of annual goals and Lean initiatives; ensure implementation of, and adherence to, improvement changes. Determine root causes of issues and inefficiencies through process analysis and initiate or recommend issue and/or process improvements.

- Ensure compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements for facilities, care and staff.

- Participate as a contributing member of Inpatient Nursing and VM-wide management team.

Works with NPP Finance to create NPP Member Shareback reports, NPP conference expense documentation and various other reimbursement forms.

Creates and presents various data analysis and reports including registration numbers and revenue figures as requested.

Bachelor's degree in Business or related area; or equivalent required. Strong communicator with excellent public speaking and presentation skills and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
