Neuro-Oncology - Virginia Mason Medical Center

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is seeking a BE/BC neuro-oncology fellowship-trained neurologist or oncologist to care for patients with brain and spinal cord cancers. This physician will direct the growth and development of the Neuro-oncology Program at Virginia Mason. The physician will collaborate with other key providers including neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, palliative care and nursing. We seek an individual to lead a comprehensive program with a coordinated team approach to delivering excellent patient-focused care.

This physician will be responsible for timely neuro-oncology consultations and expertise regarding diagnosis and treatment. Complex management is coordinated at regular multidisciplinary neuro cancer conferences, led by the physician.

As Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program , this physician will grow Virginia Mason as a regional referral center for physicians and their patients with central nervous system cancers. Opportunities exist to pursue complimentary areas of interest:

Job Description

Virginia Mason Medical Center (VMMC) is seeking an experienced Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our new regional clinic opening in December 2013 at the University Village in the University District, Washington. University District is located about 5 miles from downtown Seattle, WA. The new clinic will offer adult and pediatric primary care with selected specialty services including imaging and lab.

VMMC offers formalized training in lean methods through our Virginia Mason Production System program. As part of our Team Medicine approach at VMMC, you will collaborate with clinic nurses, medical assistants, administrators, and other colleagues at our neighborhood clinics as well as our downtown Seattle campus.

In 2010, Virginia Mason Medical Center launched an innovative primary care program for patients with complex health needs, such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease and other chronic health conditions. The new Intensive Primary Care program is designed to provide focused, coordinated care for patients, resulting in better health outcomes and increased satisfaction at a lower cost.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of Virginia Mason Medical Center's telecommunication infrastructure. This is a hands-on senior position with strategic, advisory, and support responsibilities that participates in the overall strategic direction of technology communications. This includes partnering with our business units to understand requirements, present recommendations and implement appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities:
-Designs, implements and supports Avaya/Nortel enterprise PBXs, contact center telephony infrastructure and applications.
-Leads the planning, design, implementation and management of projects such as system upgrades, system conversions and new products and services.
-Consults with our business partners to develop solutions and systems that support business objectives and align with company goals.
-Leads definition, discovery and testing of new products and services.
-Presents high-level recommendations to IT management and customers using supporting documentation such as PowerPoint’s and Visio diagrams.
-Creates and maintains system documentation including system requirements, design, implementation plans, project financials and infrastructure standards.
-Leads the planning, design and implementation of tools, utilities, monitoring and documentation of enterprise infrastructure.
-Provides tier 3 direction and support to other team members; facilitates workflow between network, security and other groups within IT.
-Contributes to the overall strategic architecture roadmap for Virginia Mason's Enterprise Unified Communications Platform.

Basic Qualifications:
-8 years IT experiences, and 5 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting voice communication systems, call center technologies, call center design, and LAN /WAN environments.
-Advanced experience with Avaya CM, Nortel C1000s, SIP, Session Border Controllers, IVR, Session Manager, VoIP, call accounting and unified voice messaging.
-Experience with implementing and supporting Avaya Communication Manager in a large healthcare environment with Session Manager.
-Experience with Avaya/Nortel Contact Center systems, specifically CC Elite or AACC and CCMS.
-Experience with voice and data networks including hardware and software; WAN, LAN, QOS, Metro Ethernet; diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in IP telephony and voice network.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
-Avaya certification highly desirable
-Experience in a Cisco network and Avaya IP telephony healthcare environment
-Strong time management and organizational skills
-Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, problem solving, presentation and leadership skills

Job Description

Virginia Mason Medical Center centrally located in downtown Seattle, Washington is recruiting a full time psychiatrist to practice at our outpatient clinic in downtown Seattle three days a week and two days at the Virginia Mason clinic on beautiful Bainbridge Island, a 20-minute ferry ride away.

The psychiatrist will be responsible for the delivery of high quality psychiatric care in an outpatient setting, Monday through Friday. Most common diagnoses treated are depression, anxiety, and ADD. The practice is primarily medication management. Excellent opportunity with primary focus on caring for patients in a collegial team environment with superb support staff, easy access to primary care and specialists, and very reasonable outpatient call coverage.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional clinician with excellent communication and team building skills with a strong commitment to patient and team-centered care. Preference given for candidates with a minimum of two years post-residency experience, able to work independently, experienced with EMRs, and enjoys working in a team environment. This position provides technical support under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist which includes: prescription processing/filling; answering telephones; providing customer service; handling cash transactions; managing inventory of pharmaceutical products; compounding and preparing medication and IV admixtures; triaging orders; managing the technical duties in the pharmacy to allow the pharmacist to pursue the clinical areas of pharmacy practice and ensure that optimal pharmaceutical care is provided to the patients.

2. Accurately coordinates and processes medication orders.

This position requires a minimum one year related work experience; strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to effectively solve problems; the ability to use a computer; a working knowledge of cash registers; an understanding of electronic billing of third-party insurance providers; a working knowledge of hazardous waste handling; the ability to attend to detail; and strong organizational skills.

Licensure requirements for this position include a Washington State Pharmacy Technician certification.

IV certification preferred.
