Job Description
The Section of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Virginia Mason Medical Center is seeking a full time Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologist. Virginia Mason is an integrated multi-specialty clinic and hospital with a national reputation for delivering the very best in primary, secondary and tertiary clinical care. The position is an outpatient consultative practice with little inpatient responsibility. Our section houses a very active diabetes center and supports the planned care of approximately 10,000 persons with diabetes. We have a very active insulin pump program, a Diabetes Clinical Research Unit, and an active thyroid and parathyroid disease program with outstanding surgical support. In addition, our diabetes programs are working closely with the Heart Institute and Primary Care in providing successful atherosclerosis prevention strategies for those with, or at risk for diabetes. Virginia Mason has its own graduate medical programs and our section is active in resident teaching. Teaching opportunities at the University of Washington are also available.
