Neuro-Oncology - Virginia Mason Medical Center
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is seeking a BE/BC neuro-oncology fellowship-trained neurologist or oncologist to care for patients with brain and spinal cord cancers. This physician will direct the growth and development of the Neuro-oncology Program at Virginia Mason. The physician will collaborate with other key providers including neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, palliative care and nursing. We seek an individual to lead a comprehensive program with a coordinated team approach to delivering excellent patient-focused care.
This physician will be responsible for timely neuro-oncology consultations and expertise regarding diagnosis and treatment. Complex management is coordinated at regular multidisciplinary neuro cancer conferences, led by the physician.
As Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program , this physician will grow Virginia Mason as a regional referral center for physicians and their patients with central nervous system cancers. Opportunities exist to pursue complimentary areas of interest:
- Palliative care
- Clinical research
- Academic pursuits
- Neuropsychological complications of cancer
- Community outreach
- Development of strategic relationships
The physician will conduct clinical research trials offering emerging therapies to our patients including the opportunity to participate in CCOP, SWOG and RTOG clinical trials as well as physician initiated research projects. Collaboration and research coordinator support is available through the Benaroya Research Institute.
