Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center offers a full range of adult and pediatric primary care and a wide range of specialty care services, including: bariatric surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology (GI), general and plastic surgery, gynecology, HIV/AIDS care, internal medicine, medical oncology, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat—ENT), physical therapy, podiatry, treatment for headaches, urgent care, urology, and wound care. Other services include laboratory facilities, X-ray, mammography, bone density scanning, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, and a pharmacy. The Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center has two separate facilities: a medical center and a hospital outpatient surgery center.
The City of Federal Way is located 24 miles south of the city of Seattle, making it an ideal suburban location in which to live. The city has a large retail core and is home to many businesses including Weyerhaeuser, the largest private owner of softwood timberland in the world. A wide variety of excellent living opportunities exist including condominiums, suburban neighborhoods, and homes with golf course, waterfront, and water views. A large variety of recreational and cultural activities abound close by. In addition, Federal Way is a reasonable commute into the cities of Seattle and Tacoma for other recreational, shopping, and cultural options.
